Archimedes- A Brief Summary

Archimedes of Syracuse was a Greek inventor, physicist, astronomer, engineer, and a mathematician. He was dedicated to his work to the extent that he might work for many days without rest or food. In these intense periods of working, he discovered some of the most famous principles known today.
He was born in the seaport city of Syracuse, Sicily around 2,300 years ago. During his lifetime, he was said to have set ships on fire with mirrors and have lifted them clean out of the water with an ancient crane that he designed. Later on in life the "Siege of Syracuse" occurred. Unfortunately, Archimedes was killed by a soldier after orders to spare him.
